LOCAL RULES
1.Immovable Obstructions (Rule 16)
The following are deemed to be immovable obstructions.
- a) Staked or caged trees - where interference occurs to the player’s stance or swing, relief must be taken under this rule.
- b) Huts adjacent to the 3rd and 7th tees.
- c) The memorial and associated garden to the left of the 1st green and 15th tee.
- d) All golf ball washers, fixed distance marker posts at the side of fairways and sprinkler heads.
- e) All man-made gravel or bark paths.
- f) The lights positioned behind the 18th green.
- g) The white stakes defining the boundary on the 11th hole when playing any other hole.
- Integral Part of the Course
Integral part of the course (no free relief) - the track to the right of the 1st hole.
- Paths
Paths – If a ball comes to rest in a tractor rut to the right of the 7th hole, relief may be taken under Rule 16.1a.
- Penalty Area
Penalty Areas (Rule 17) are marked by red & yellow stakes respectively.
- Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)
The following areas are Out of Bounds.
- a) Beyond any boundary fence or hedge.
- b) The Driving Range as marked by the fence from the 1st hole.
- c) Beyond the white stakes on the 8th, 9th and 18th holes.
- d) Beyond the white stakes along the 14th and 13th holes when playing the 11th hole - NOT during play of any other hole than the 11th.
It is the golfer’s responsibility to check the course safety notice board & local rules prior to play. Every golfer is solely responsible for his/her actions and should have Personal Liability Insurance.
Golfers must ensure that they only play their ball when safe to do so, as they are solely liable for any damage or injury they may cause.
HEALTH & SAFETY To ensure that your round of golf is as safe and enjoyable as possible, please adhere to the following:
- Please read all local rules and signs on the course.
- Please take care when attempting to retrieve golf balls from penalty areas. Banks can be steep and may cause you to slip into the penalty area, floatation rings are situated at all deep water areas.
- Beware of other golfers and also beware of golf balls from players following you.
- Beware of rabbit and foxholes.
- Watch out for varying slopes on tees and greens.
- Beware of low branches when entering wooded areas.
- Take care when driving buggies and read instructions displayed on buggy windscreen.
- Keep to paths wherever possible.
- When using the driving range, take note of all safety notices displayed. (Supervision is recommended for children under the age of 16).
